Behind the Scenes – A TriadWeddings Styled Shoot

TriadWeddings recently had the opportunity to combine three of our absolutely favorite things – sugar, weddings, and talented wedding professionals. Simply put, it was the trifecta of awesome.

The fashion shoot was held at two locations: the incredibly chic Proximity Hotel, and the stunning O’Henry Hotel. For two days, we brought together an amazing team to showcase some of the beautiful gowns we have right here in the area. To make it extra sugary, The Sugar Shack incorporated a “sweet accessory” for each scene.

The final spread will be showcased in the Spring/Summer Issue (starting to hit stands next week, and yes we are SO excited!) After coordinating all of these people together, we admit, it was much like planning a wedding. With models, photographers, attires, venues, AND all the little details that were needed for the finishing touch, we were juggling a lot of moving parts.

But if there is one piece of advice we can give you, darling brides, it’s that a wedding (or a fashion shoot!) needs incredible vendors. We certainly couldn’t have done it without them. And as you plan your upcoming special day, TriadWeddings wants to help put you in touch with those very same people, so your day is just as successful.

Catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse of our fashion shoot, created by the ever-amazing Good Earth Films.

It’s so fantastic and we cannot wait to share the spread with you. Remember the next issue of TriadWeddings hits stands in a week, so keep an eye out and be sure to grab your complimentary copy!

A huge thank you to these talented wedding professionals who rocked the socks off this fashion shoot!

The Fall TW Connect 2013

We can hardly believe that it’s time to say goodbye to 2013 and hello to 2014, but oh, what a lovely year is behind us. It has been a beautiful year for TriadWeddings. We published two stunning magazines:

Triad-Weddings-2013-Spring-Edition-rev   Triad-Weddings2013-Fall-Edition-rev

We’ve seen and experienced hundreds of breathtaking weddings in and around the Triad area. And our group of the area’s talented and most reputable wedding professionals? Well, that list just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

This past November we had our bi-annual TW CONNECT event, and let’s just say, it was a paaar-tay! Many of our vendors joined together to celebrate something that we feel very passionately about here at TriadWeddings: community. It was an opportunity to relax, to put faces to names, and to CONNECT, and that is just what we did!

We have a lovely video from Silver Feather Studios that takes us back to that memorable night. It’s a perfect reminder of why we all love weddings, and why our vendors truly love TriadWeddings Magazine.

Many thank to these incredible vendors who made this night not just beautiful, but unforgettable:

Kate & Matthew: A Southern Manor Wedding

1000737_604417909590098_1383563102_n

Kate and Matthew were married on May 11, 2013 at Magnolia Manor in Colfax, NC.

I love a wedding with lots of fun and cute details. This is one of those weddings! They had a year to plan and Kate knew that they had a budget to stick to, so they put the money where they needed it and were able to use some of their family’s own creativity to pull together the rest.  All of the planning and decorating were done by Kate and her family. Her mother made the bouquets out of fresh flowers from the local farmer’s market, the invitations were handmade and her father-in-law even welded the shepherd’s hooks for the aisle, himself.  The light fixture they had hanging above them in the ceremony tree was from an old church that Matthew grew up in- what a neat way to bring in something special from your past! The couple had Jenga pieces laid out for guests to write a message as they entered the ceremony and corn hole boards for the guests’ entertainment later in the evening. There were mason jars in place of drinking glasses to add a cute southern flare at the reception and the guests even had individually boxed treats to take home with them at the end of the night! What a simply delightful wedding these two were able to share with their loved ones!

Sara & Bart: A Homegrown Wedding

Sara and Bart were married on June 8 in  Seagrove, NC at Sara’s Grandfather’s barn that he built himself (the stoop that they were married on is actually the original deck for the house).

Family plays a huge role in both of their lives and they made a point to involve many aspects of both of their families. Sara said they wanted the day to represent their deep family roots and their love of the country and outdoors. The hay bales used at the wedding were made on the family farm (Circle T Farm), they used antique and heirloom quilts in multiple locations, the tent, food and decorations were provided and prepared by family members and even the wine was made by Sara’s Aunt Jane. Some other fun details from the day were the corn hole games they had for their guests and the fabulous family antiques and pictures they had set up in the barn. Both of their families came together to help make Sara and Bart’s day exactly what they envisioned. From her gorgeous dress, the beautiful setting and the family ties this wedding couldn’t have been more sweet and beautiful!

Sara described her wedding day as ‘Exciting, Fun and PERFECT”…what more could a bride ask for?!

Stacey & Stephen: A Tribute to Elon

d4FwzbM_CfKitxCJI4MC0Xe-9XDrSYcI_dBb969aJ4U

Stacey and Stephen were married on May 4th, 2013 on the lawn overlooking the lake at The Arbor Events in Cleveland, NC .

The couple met at Elon University and they decided to use the love and experience of college to create the theme and decor for their wedding day. Maroon and Gold are the colors of Elon University and you will find those colors used throughout Stacey and Stephen’s wedding. The bridesmaids’ dresses, groomsmen’s ties and the table cloths were all maroon and the flowers were yellow. Each of the guest tables were named after a different location at the University. What makes their theme even more adorable is how they used acorns throughout their reception hall and squirrels as their cake toppers since both are important symbols of Elon. They even designed their own sand ceremony that allowed their family and wedding party to participate. The couple chose to write their own vows to be able to share a more personal side of their relationship. Stacey said that her two favorite parts of the ceremony were watching Stephen’s face as she walked down the aisle and watching him tear up as he read his vows to her.

This wedding really brings the family and guests into the ceremony more than your typical wedding. We just love having the family participate and all of the details this couple used to tie their wedding day into a place that means so much to them!

Megan & Jordan: Country Charm

We fell in love with the fun details of Megan and Jordan’s Homespun wedding! They were joined by 60 family and friends at a friend’s home for their intimate ceremony and then went on to celebrate at Southern Roots Restaurant in Jamestown, NC.

You would think an early May Wedding would bring on some warm temperatures, but not this 4th of May.  It actually ended up being quite chilly on their wedding day, but luckily no rain which made for a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Megan and Jordan knew from the moment they began their planning that each detail, big or small, would involve their family and friends. Her mother created the beautiful floral arrangements, her two sisters made the quilts that were placed on the hay bales and Megan’s best friend of 30 years made the stunning wedding cake . On top of all of this craftiness, each table linen was handmade to fit the tables at Southern Roots Restaurant. A fun little detail that the couple came up with was to have the guests throw grass seed as the couple exited the ceremony since Jordan is in the lawn care business. The couple decided not to have a wedding party and to keep the ceremony focused on the beginning of their lives together. Although the couple did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen we cannot forget a special member of their wedding party… their Labrador, Jack. Megan said that there wasn’t a doubt in their minds that Jack would be apart of their wedding day. Megan says that a favorite part of the wedding was after she and Jordan were pronounced Husband and Wife and began exiting the ceremony, Jack knew to follow them back down the aisle. This charming country wedding was captured by Ashley, another dear friend to the couple.

Lauren & Daniel: Whimsical Love Birds

rwjGmUxL1wc6plKwHXhXkYalKmo-KrI-YtQLei1bBVkLauren and Daniel were married at the College Place United Methodist Church and then made their way to the UNCG Alumni House for their reception.

With the help of her Mother, Lauren was very much a Do-It-Yourself bride. She created her own centerpieces and wedding favors,  the bridemaids’ dresses were custom made through Etsy,  and her mother created her broach bouquet as well as their cake toppers. Their wedding design all started with the invitations and they designed the rest of their wedding around them using their centerpieces and the wedding favors to bring it all together. Family friend, Carla Smith, helped Lauren with the wedding planning while Alison Turner and Kristy Coleman coordinated the wedding. With the help of these ladies,  Lauren was able to see her vision come together.
